As a chronicler and as a woman, research aimed at women’s health is important to me. Unfortunately, this is an area with little subsidy, despite the fact that the necessity is being loudly shouted around the world. Fortunately, we have several associations and organizations that work actively with research and women’s rights, and in October it is the Pink Ribbon that gets involved.
Earlier this year I donated a portrait to the Gallery of giving in Stavanger, where the proceeds went to mental health youth. I personally appreciate the fact that local teams and volunteers have such events, so that it is easier for everyone to contribute to matters of the heart in the way that they themselves can. At the same time, it’s nice to be able to meet people where they are, in a world where most things take place in digital spaces. On 27 November there is an opportunity to get out and support a good cause for those of us who live in Stavanger.
On this day, the breast cancer association Sør-Rogaland will have a bazaar and here I will donate a painting. I have outlined four expressions for the purpose that I will work on during October. As November approaches, I select one of the paintings to be donated to the bazaar.
I will be posting about the process of these paintings on instagram, but so far it looks like this:
