MAKART

The theme MAKART is based on the word makart bouquet, which is named after Hans Makart. Makart had dried flowers as decorative elements in his studio, and this form of decoration often appeared in his paintings.

The garden is very important to me. Here I tend to the best of my ability and enjoy the plants from bed to vase. When the flowers wither, I find the expression interesting and inspiring. The flowers, leaves and stem that were once colourful, vital, green and fresh have turned gray and brown, but hardened into a new form. And even if, from the outside, the plants are empty of life, the bouquet often remains a little longer – and even a little longer.

This process and this expression inspire me to create and paint the paintings for MAKART.

UPCLOSE

Much of my inspiration comes from everyday and close relationships. It could be someone in my family, my husband or a good friend. UPCLOSE is a series that shows my personal encounters with my own vulnerability, and is based on my own photographs. In order for a photograph to pass through the eye of the needle and be processed further into a painting, it is important to me that the moment is real and not posed. With this as a principle, the models are not clear that they are being photographed.

INNER

At times I have a need to get out what is going on inside my chest, head, heart and stomach. The only thing that applies then is to turn up the volume on the system and paint. The images in INNER are intuitive and emotion-based.

ASSIGNMENTS

In addition to painting based on my own impulses, I am also open to taking on assignments. Here are some of my previously commissioned works:
